Daniel Bergin - New York WeddIng Photographer
Hi, I'm Daniel Bergin, a New York photographer. I specialize in documentation and editorial portraiture on film.
In a strange way, I feel photography isn't the art of taking pictures. It's the art of being present. I've ultimately found taking meaningful photos is so much more about connecting with people and feeling moments alongside them rather than being a disconnected observer. I've also noticed that there's no better way to stick out than being a stranger in a room full of friends. Understanding this gives me permission to lean into my role as a participant and even a conductive element, drawing out, encouraging, and amplifying what's already there. Which is why connection is integral to my approach. When you boil it down in this way you begin to understand it's not about taking photos, it's about spending time as people.
I've found I mesh best with creative types and unapologetic partiers who value people and presence above all, especially on their wedding day. Those who would describe themselves as: sentimental, intentional, intuitive, inspired, curious, collaborative, and playful.
I'm grateful to have been born, raised, and still call New York home. I'm equally grateful to have been all over the US to photograph couples and celebrations. My work has been featured in The New York Times, The Cut, Anti-Bride, Green Wedding Shoes, and more.
