ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Danny (and that’s my favorite person, Veronica). I'm a documentary and portrait photographer who specializes in couples and weddings. Constantly shooting all sorts of different people and celebrations with full creative freedom has kept my work fun, interesting, and creatively fulfilling. So I don't really see lines between my personal and professional work. I see them both as an opportunity to pursue my passion, be creative, and experience something meaningful. I'm incredibly honored and grateful to be able share what I do with others.

My work has been featured in The New York Times, The Cut, Anti Bride, and more. View press & features here.

ABOUT YOU

Your wedding is a party, not a performance. You don’t want to do anything that doesn’t feel like you or add value. You want every aspect of your celebration to be authentic and intentional.

You see your wedding as not only a celebration, but as a collision of communities. You view it as a bringing together of all the people that helped shape you both.

You value being present. This is a unique moment in your lives. So you don’t want to be concerned with anything but soaking it all in and having a great time. You want to be able to let go and embrace the beautiful chaos of the day.

Above all you want photography to be natural, candid, and pain-free. You don’t care for traditional photography or cringey awkward posing. You just want to be yourselves. You want a photographer who is curious about you two as people and doesn’t just see you as subjects or clients.

MY APPROACH

My approach is present, curious, intuitive and playful. I’ve found that being a photographer is so much more about connecting on a personal level than it is operating a camera. This is because so much of photography has nothing to do with pressing the shutter. It’s the art of paying attention, connecting, and being present. Which is why I feel it’s so important to get to know the people I’m photographing, whether it’s you or your loved ones. This allows me to get closer both physically and emotionally. I feel the closer I am to what’s happening the more connected you’ll feel to the images.

To help you get an even deeper understanding of what I do I think it’s useful to talk about the kinds of things that inform and inspire me. Such as:

Photography from the likes of Daniel Arnold, Greg Girard, Jeff Mermelstein, Garry Winogrand, and many others. Images from Studio 54 and House of Yes. Editorial photography. Pre-flashed darkroom prints. 90’s movies. Grungy album covers. Photos of early skate culture. Photos my parents took of each other.

You’ll likely catch flavors of these things in my work. But most importantly, my work is inspired by you. I truly believe photography is a constant collaboration between photographer and subject. Meaning I can’t do what I do without the trust and willingness of so many incredible couples. I often feel that my favorite photos aren’t simply taken by me, they’re given by you. So thank you.

If any of this has resonated with you, get in touch. :)
